Giving Back

Gemmer believes that giving back is a cornerstone to any great company. In that regard, we support a number of organizations that offer tremendous services to the less fortunate, some of which are specifically targeting families and kids in the East Bay.

Youth Homes, Inc. is committed to serving the needs of abused and neglected children and adolescents in California's San Francisco Bay Area. They provide intensive residential treatment programs and community-based counseling services that promote the healing process for seriously emotionally abused and traumatized children and adolescents.

SHELTER, Inc. of Contra Costa strives to realize a vision: Re-building lives, one family at a time, by giving them a home, the skills and the resources to live the life they deserve. The mission of SHELTER, Inc. is to prevent and end homelessness for low-income residents of Contra Costa County by providing resources that lead to self-sufficiency.

Foundation for Financial Planning help people take control of their financial lives by connecting the financial planning community with people in need. They achieve this by supporting pro bono advice and outreach activities.

White Pony Express acts as the connector between need and abundance, ensuring that fresh, healthy food and high quality clothing that is headed to landfill is instead delivered to vulnerable, under-resourced groups across Contra Costa County.

White Pony Express serves 120,000 people each year through more than 80 partner agencies. They have rescued and delivered over 17 million pounds of nutritious food—13.5 million meals—to people who are otherwise not able to access it.

College Is Real works to change the college-going culture in Richmond’s three public high schools in order to uplift the community through having more of its students, who are nearly all low-income youth of color, attend and be first in their families to graduate from college. CIR does this by having a professional on-site program director at each of the schools and by offering a variety of services all designed to ensure the students can succeed in high school and progress towards college and meaningful careers.  A key part of the program is to provide students with experienced mentors to help focus their efforts in pursuit of their life goals.

Trinity Center provides essential safety net services and a pathway forward for vulnerable populations. They advocate for those who are seeking housing, financial stability, and wellness. Trinity Center envisions a community working together to address the devastating affects of poverty and remove barriers to stable housing through compassionate services, education, shelter and advocacy.
